There will come a time in your life, possibly more than once, where you’ll need learn how to heal yourself. If you suffer a devastating heartbreak or just don’t feel very good, you will have to find some way to treat and restore yourself.
Many of us don’t take the time to listen to our bodies and take care of ourselves, even if our horoscope indicates it’s what we need. That’s bad enough, but it gets worse when we’re run down and something happens that rocks us emotionally.
If you’re always busy, running around, maybe not eating right or ever slowing down, and then you get dumped or fired, you’ll find yourself in a very dangerous place. How can you expect to recover when your body is depleted of its resources?
You need to figure out what you can do to make yourself feel better so that you not only feel well and healthy, but you feel whole again. And sometimes in order to do this, you need to make a complete overhaul of your lifestyle and focus on slowing down
Everyone has their own way of healing and that’s especially true for the individuals born under each zodiac sign. A Taurus isn’t going to do the same things to fix their life as a Pisces would. Not all the people of each sign are going to do the same exact things, but whatever you can do to mend your psyche or feel better in your body is good.
Here’s how you can heal your body and mind, all based on your zodiac sign.

ARIES (March 21 – April 19)

Naturally, when you need to heal, you take action. You’ll find the kind of treatment that works best for you — maybe it’s seeing a therapist, going on a retreat, changing your diet, or finding some new workout trend like piloxing or exercising with your dog.
You like to shake things up and you need to be stimulated to feel better. However, when you’re not feeling well, it can manifest as over-activity — both physically and mentally. The best thing you can do, Aries, is slow down and pay attention to your body and the world around you. Hold back on trying to find the newest treatment and just chill.

TAURUS (April 20 – May 20)

When you need to heal, Taurus, your first instinct is to self-medicate and not deal with how you’re really feeling. This is when you’ll drink too much, binge-eat, or get excessive amounts of sleep. But just because you’re ignoring what’s going on with yourself doesn’t mean that it’s going away.
You have to be honest with yourself and your emotions and try to figure out what’s bothering you. Often times, your emotional issues will manifest as upper back issues, neck problems, sore throats, laryngitis, and shoulder pain. Getting a massage, having some body work, and getting to the root of the problem will help you feel better.

GEMINI (May 21 – June 20)

When you’re not feeling right, Gemini, you act like there’s nothing wrong. You believe that no one can tell that you’re not okay, but the truth is that it’s obvious from your inability to express yourself, your confused thoughts, and your overall lack of energy.
Since you live for communication, the best thing that you can do to get back on track is to do some free-form stream of consciousness and meditate. You literally need to collect your thoughts in order to feel better. Talk therapy would also be good or going to a hot spring or sauna.

CANCER (June 21 – July 22)

When you’re not feeling great, it will usually show as wildly uncontrollable emotions, being overly sensitive, and wanting to withdraw from the world. Physically, it may manifest as low energy, respiratory illnesses, coughing, and a desire to eat your feelings.
Cancer, the best thing you can do is to get out of the house and get into nature. Expand your lungs with fresh air. Take an easy hike in the mountains or walk along the beach. Do some charity work and get out of your own head, or just give yourself permission to nourish yourself.

LEO (July 23 – August 22)

You tend to feel a responsibility to put on a brave face and soldier on when you’re not feeling well. But there are times when you have to recognize the fact that people will still like you, even when you’re feeling like crap.
Leo, if you don’t try to heal, your body will alert you to the fact that you’re not okay with blood pressure issues, difficulty in expressing emotions, feeling insecure and unloved, and having a lack of your usual self-confidence.
To feel better, you’ve got to put on your artist’s hat and get creative. It doesn’t matter what it is — dancing, art, drama, poetry, or singing — anything that helps to express your creativity. If you need to stay in bed for a week, that’s more than okay too. Take the time to focus on you and heal.

VIRGO (August 23 – September 22)

You’re used to fixing everybody else, Virgo, so when you’re feeling crappy, you just put it on your to-do list like everything else. The trouble is you don’t prioritize your health, so it can get lost among all the other things you have to do.
Sometimes you need to be selfish and take your body seriously when it’s screaming at you that it’s not okay. Did you even notice that you’re having digestive problems? Did you think that your obsessiveness, stubbornness, and over-thinking was just part of who you are? Well, they could be a sign that you’re not alright.
You need to make peace with your body if you want to feel better. Do something that’s just for you — writing that book you always talked about writing, or signing up for a cooking class. You probably need to change your diet too and get more exercise.

LIBRA (September 23 – October 22)

You’re completely on board with the idea that love will fix you. The problem is that it’s great when someone loves you but it’s not their responsibility to repair your brokenness, especially since you don’t want to share with them what it is.
You want everyone to think that you’re always fine, Libra, so you tend to keep your negative feelings bottled up until they explode out. You strive for wholeness, but there are times when you’re distinctly out of balance and you have bladder or urinary infections, lower back pain, and stomach issues.
Emotionally, you may become too co-dependent or overly independent (you’ll do your own healing). To heal, you need to find compromise in your life and let go of past grudges and negative feelings. Hanging onto past injustices won’t make you feel better, but getting rid of them will.

SCORPIO (October 23 – November 21)

When you’re not feeling great, Scorpio, it’s usually your body trying to tell you to stop pushing it so much and listen to it. Did you really have to run all that way? It’s not as if you’re training for something, you just wanted to see how far you could go.
You tend to be kind of a jerk to yourself and the only way it knows to tell you to lay off is by giving you some kind of STD, a lack of interest in sex, an obsessive interest in sex, feelings of depression, and/or feeling overwhelmed or stuck.
You need to be kinder to yourself, practice self-care, and emotionally detox. Taking up some hot yoga, meditation, or taking yourself on a weekend beach getaway would be a great start.

SAGITTARIUS (November 22 – December 21)

You wonder why you get sick so often, Sagittarius. The reason is you never let yourself fully recuperate from the last illness. The minute you start to feel a little better, you’re off on some adventure or task. You do too much too soon. It’s as if you refuse to take your body seriously.
When you’re not feeling great, it usually manifests as hip problems, liver issues, restlessness, and the inability to concentrate. What really freaks you out is when your unwell state presents itself as a reluctance to learn or keep an open mind.
You need to take the time to recover and rest. When you’re truly on the mend, do something that you normally don’t do. Start listening to your body — if you have stomach issues every time you eat bread, cut out grains and gluten.

CAPRICORN (December 22 – January 19)

Work is such a priority for you, Capricorn, that you don’t even realize how over-worked and tired you are until your body tells you with symptoms like knee pain, carpal tunnel, cavities, and headaches. If your body started breaking down and you had a big project due, would you even notice?
You need a break to get yourself balanced. After some much-needed time-off (where you actually go somewhere, not a staycation), take a closer look at your schedule and do a little reworking. Put some time in your day for creative pursuits and things that you do just for yourself like swimming, journaling, and meditation. You have a great sense of humor and learning to laugh at yourself will help you be not quite so tense.

AQUARIUS (January 20 – February 18)

If you could develop a pill that would immediately make you feel amazing and that wasn’t addictive or harmful to one’s health, you would in a heartbeat, Aquarius. You hate it when you’re feeling poorly and you can’t fix it.
You’re definitely someone who will power through when you’re not feeling well. Your body will do whatever it can to alert you to the fact that you need to take care of yourself, like getting migraines, back pain, ankle and foot issues, and feelings of anxiety or panic attacks.
You need to take stock of your life and get rid of the toxic things in it, including people. Surround yourself with positive people, even if you think they don’t go with your cynical outlook. As long as you don’t have an illness where heat isn’t recommended, try some heat therapy with heated gel packs, heating pads, saunas, hot tubs, or a hot bath. You’re wound up very tightly and it’s crucial that you do whatever you can to loosen your muscles.

PISCES (February 19 – March 20)

Pisces, you’re so selfless that sometimes it gets in the way of your own self-care. You’re very sensitive and intuitive when it comes to other people, but you can be clueless when it comes to your own body. You’ll ignore your sleep problems, foot pain, and stomach issues, though, if someone you care about complained about those symptoms, you’d be the first one there to take care of them.
Then there are the times when you do the opposite and show signs of hypochondria — it’s as if you don’t understand your own body at all. Stop thinking of others and think about your needs. Get a foot massage, find someone who practices reflexology, and see a nutritionist. Self-care isn’t you being selfish, it’s you healing yourself.
